Sudatel celebrates the subscriber number 4 million in Sudani

May 3rd, 2008 · 3 Comments

For his 4 millions subscribers, Sudatel has realeased a news:

Sudatel General Director Eng. Amad Aldeen Hussein said in the ceremony organized to mark the subscriber number 4 million in Sudani that Sudatel is proud to provide distinguished services to all the Sudanese.

Eng. Amad Aldeen said that Sudatel works to develop telecommunication service, which is the base for development and prosperity in Sudan. “Sudatel investments encouraged other telecommunication companies to provide services in Sudan, however Sudatel provides wireless services in more that 800 rural areas in Sudan,” said Eng Amad Aldeen adding that Sudatel has investments in Senegal and Mauritania and has the largest telecommunication network in Sudan.

Eng. Amad Aldeen Eng. Amad Aldeen revealed that Sudatel has new developments in the administration sector to cope with the great developments and expansion in services. “The achievements of Sudatel attracted more investors,” he added.

In the same time, Sudatel has increased his capitalization from 750 millions dollars to 2.5 billions dollars, here the news released by Sudatel:

In an extra ordinary meeting for Sudatel General Assembly, which took place in April 23 in Friendship Hall in Khartoum, the company decided to increase its capital from $750 million to $ 2.5 billion and to change its name to become Sudatel Group for Telecommunication Ltd.
The company changed its name and increased the capital to cope with the great expansions in and outside Sudan.

Board of Director Chairman: the new changes are implemented to enhance the great developments and expansion in the company.

The Board of Director Chairman Eng. Abd Alaziz Osman addressed the General Assembly extra ordinary meeting and said that the meeting is for discussing the proposed changes to meet the great developments and expansion in the company, to meet the requirements of the Companies Act and Khartoum Exchange Market developments. ”

We increased the capital to be $2.5 billion, and changed the company name to be Sudatel Group for Telecommunication Ltd ” he said . Eng. Abd Alaziz further said that these changes are useful for the shareholders and came as a result for the developments that the company witnessed and a response to the competition. “The old name indicates that the company is a local one with limited activities and the change was proposed for the company’’s expansion outside Sudan,” he revealed adding that the new shares will not affect the old shareholders.

Sudatel Group for Telecommunication Ltd Executive Chairman: The Company will become one of five top telecommunication operators in the Arab world and Africa.

On his part Sudatel Group for Telecommunication Ltd Executive Chairman Eng. Amad Aldeen Hussien said that company aims by its five years plan that ends in 2012 to be one the top five telecommunication operators in the Arab World and Africa.
“Africa became the target of the international telecommunication countries due to the great competition in Europe, North America and Asia,” Eng. Amad said adding that the telecommunication sector is witnessing great developments. Sudatel Group for Telecommunication Ltd Executive

Chairman further said that the company has started its external investment outside Sudan in Mauritania through its operator there Chinguitel that has 160000 subscribers. “The company also won the telecommunication license in Senegal and now is building the network to provide good telecommunication services” he said adding that Sudatel bought the share of a telecommunication company in Nigeria and is modernizing the network using the third generation of telecommunication technologies .
Eng. Amad indicated that all these expansions would increase the value of the company share in the regional and international exchange markets.
Sudatel Group for Telecommunication Ltd Executive Chairman concluded by saying that the company would expand its service to cover all over Sudan using up to date telecommunication technologies.

So it seems that Sudatel was capable to develop a mobile infrastructure outside Sudan, in Mauritania with the Chinguitel compagny (owned at 75% by Sudatel).  I don’t know what the Mauritanian customer thinks about Sudatel mobile services, but it seems that 160 000 customers is a good beginning.

I take this occasion to put photos of Sudacad academy, which trains Sudanese engineer at an high level to meet the requirements of mobile or fixed telephony needs.
